Often, when the back of the earring breaks, it can indeed be because the butterfly back is poking into the back. What can help is to use only the rubber stoppers. Another reason could be that small wounds often occur during changing. The skin can adhere to the post, and when removing it, the skin can get damaged. Dirt, such as shampoo, can get in there, which can lead to irritation and inflammation. Our advice is to always disinfect the earrings and your earlobes. Daily checks are also important; just turn the backs a bit and see if the skin looks calm. You mentioned that you also tried it without the stoppers. Our advice is not to use both backs at the same time. Especially in winter, earlobes can swell due to the difference in cold and warmth. The rubber stopper often does not shift, and if the earlobe swells, the stopper can push the butterfly back into the back of the earring, leading to wounds.
