Nevertheless, we still want to try to assist you and ensure that you do not end up with something incorrectly installed that could cause you problems later on. Your countertop washbasin is currently only secured to your furniture with silicone because you have attached the siphon directly to the washbasin. This will cause several issues, as bumping against the washbasin during use will quickly cause the silicone to crack, leading to the washbasin becoming loose. This, in turn, creates the next problem: stress on the connection of the siphon to your drain, which will cause it to leak. For a countertop washbasin that is not directly screwed to the wall, the siphon must go through the washbasin and the furniture to secure it properly. This is entirely separate from whether there happens to be a siphon with a manufacturing defect. When you called about the siphon leaking, our response was: "We have actually never had problems with these siphons, but of course, one can always come out faulty from production." The issue of "a siphon that is not functioning properly" does not exclude the other issue of "the countertop washbasin being incorrectly installed by your plumber."
